Cold Ash Neighbourhood Development Plan Update – June 2022

The Cold Ash Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is a legal process that will allow Parishioners to have a greater say in where new housing will be built in the Parish of Cold Ash. It will also give Parishioners a greater say in the style and type of housing. 

The NDP is being developed by the Cold Ash NDP Steering Group. The Steering Group publishes regular updates for parishioners.

In the latest update Ivor McArdle explains why the Council cannot start the consultation (known as a Regulation 14 consultation) in June as originally expected.

Veolia and West Berkshire Council giving away compost to local residents

Veolia in partnership with West Berkshire Council reveals details of their first soil conditioner give-away later this month.

On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2022 there will be a give-away event at the Padworth Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF), Padworth Lane, RG7 4JF, between 10am and 4pm where residents will be able to pick up Veolia’s locally produced soil conditioner for free!

Road Closure – Red Shute Hill

Red Shute Lane in the Parish of Cold Ash will be closed on 25th April 2022, between the hours of 09:30  – 15:30. The closures is between its junctions with Slanting Hill and B4009 Long Lane. 

This closure to enable Volker Highways to carry out carriageway machine patching on behalf of West Berkshire Council.
