Cold Ash & Ashmore Green Pathusers

Cold Ash & Ashmore Green Pathusers are an informal group of walkers who meet each month to use the paths in our area.

Our walks are fairly gentle strolls of about 3 miles, taking an hour and a half.

Normally between October and March our walks are on Sunday afternoons, starting from the Fisher Room adjoining St. Mark’s Church at 2.30pm and ending back at the Fisher Room at around 4pm for tea/coffee and biscuits. These ‘winter’ walks take place on the second Sunday of each month (normally the third Sunday in November to avoid Remembrance Sunday). Note there no walks in December or January. Note also that the last few winters have been so wet that we have had to suspended our Winter Walks due to the extreme mud conditions. We hope the weather allows us to restart these.

Between April & September our walks are mid-week evening walks starting and finishing at a public house within the Newbury area. There is a strong convivial atmosphere to these walks, which end with a bar meal which may be selected and ordered before the walk commences. These ‘summer’ walks start very promptly at 7pm on the third Wednesday monthly.

The annual subscription is £3 per person (if Winter Walks are scheduled, otherwise free). For further information please contact our Secretary John Patey on johnpateycoldash@hotmail.com  01635 871131.
