M4 Junctions 12 (Theale, West Berkshire) to 15 (Swindon, Wiltshire) – Weekend Closures
Highways England would like to advise that resurfacing work along the M4 between junctions 12 and 15 is ongoing and progressing well.
In July we have the first of our weekend closures along the M4. These are required as some sections of resurfacing will replace all layers down to the foundations. To allow time for the materials to harden, we will undertake this work whilst closing the M4 over entire weekend periods.
The Cold Ash Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) is a legal process that will allow Parishioners to have a greater say in where new housing will be built in the Parish of Cold Ash. It will also give Parishioners a greater say in the style and type of housing.
The NDP is being developed by the Cold Ash NDP Steering Group. The Steering Group publishes regular updates for parishioners.
In the latest update Ivor McArdle gives feedback on the activities undertaken this year and details recent announcements by West Berkshire Council.
West Berkshire Council household recycling centres set to reopen
West Berkshire Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are set to reopen to allow residents the opportunity to dispose of waste and recycling that cannot be safely stored at home. This follows publication by the government of updated guidance indicating that visits to recycling centres can be considered essential under certain conditions.
As you are aware all the West Berkshire libraries have been closed for the past few weeks in line with Government guidelines. We are making plans to restore the library service to the public in phases, but in the meantime we would like to share with you our Libraries customer newsletter which was sent out last week – see link below.
We are hoping that the newsletter will reassure customers who have not been able to return their library loans that there is no need to worry about this – no fines will be charged during this closure period.
You can still join West Berkshire Libraries online to get free access to our e-library and range of digital resources such as Ancestry and Britannica. There are thousands of titles available including e-magazines and e-newspapers too. We’ve also got a range of digital activities for families and an online book group.
Due to the Government’s Coronavirus restrictions, Parish Council public meetings will now, until further notice, be held using the Zoom video conferencing application.
Members of the public are welcome to join these meetings and can do so using the Zoom App on their PC, Mac, Tablet or Smartphone. In addition there is a dial in number for those unable to use the above devices – note however that you will not be able to see us or the planning applications if you dial in by phone.
